Our Narrative Work

VRpunchupguy balloonc.png

"

My work usually involves translating existing stories into a VR experience, and I work with creative teams to help them evoke the moments, emotions, perspectives and insights they’re aiming for.

This ideally sees me involved at the earliest creative stages to figure out the design side of the equation (interactions, systems, player affordances, environment design, narrative delivery, etc.) to enable them to hit the story beats they want to.

Sometimes it involves shaping the stories around a technology, more often than not it’s about suggesting different ways and options to deliver a story beat or sequence that will be more effective.

I often struggle to define what I do - too many strings on a complex bow! - but somebody recently commented that I’m the punch-up/script doctor guy for VR, which was both amazing to hear and also a pretty accurate metaphor as to how I can help!
