“Change is inevitable–except from a vending machine.” –Robert C. Gallagher
Welcome to our new, upgraded and improved website!
It seems like a lifetime ago that we launched Realised Realities, and along with it our first version of the website which I hastily pieced together myself in WordPress against a tight deadline, so that our clients and partners could access the site from day one, and find out what they needed to know about Realised Realities and the services we offer.
Of course, there were bugs. With 30+ years between us working in the Videogame Industry on projects like PSVR, MotorStorm, DriveClub and many more, we weren’t too surprised to see a few bugs creeping into the site – bugs are an inevitability in any kind of software project. What was more surprising was that we were painted into a corner by some crazy bugs in the WordPress theme I used! Several areas of the site simply couldn’t be re-edited through this theme once we’d published; it looked like we were paying the price for not getting expert help in the first place!
It’s been a great sign to us that we’ve been so busy helping our clients nurture and grow their own immersive projects over the last few years that we’ve simply never had the time to dedicate to tidying up our own back yard and get rid of those few niggles we were living with. Getting a ‘2.0’ version of the site, built and tested by professional website design gurus with the skills, experience and vision to execute our ideas was always important for us – but never as important as satisfying our clients and delivering the help they need. But change was inevitable. Luckily last year we crossed paths with the expert web-wranglers from Manchester’s ‘Designers Up North’ (www.designersupnorth.com) who agreed to help us out on this front, and we’re pleased today to be able to share the fruits of our shared labours with you. We hope you will agree that our new site better reflects the quality of immersive technology services that we offer at Realised Realities.
The site has been completely redesigned to simplify and improve navigation, and it features a responsive design to allow for better viewing on tablets and smart phones. And now, with this blog, we’ve got another great way to keep you in the loop on some of the interesting work we’ve been involved with, and for us to share some of our insights with you on the changing aspects of the XR landscape and tips to help you realise your own immersive realities.
We hope you enjoy the new site. Happy surfing!
